Pre cancerous colon polyp removed

Hi, I had a 3.5cm pre cancerous sessile polyp removed today. Found during a colonoscopy. I've been suffering with abdonimal pain after having a c section a year ago. Wasnt expecting to find a polyp let alone a pre cancerousone. Seen 2 consultants who were quite shocked 41 healthy no family history of colon cancer.

The whole process has taken a month, now have to wait 2 weeks for the histology reports, praying it's not cancer. An internal ultrasound showed whatever it is hasn't spread so that's good,  found a reactive lymph node but said it was nothing to worry out. Just trying to keep positive

  • Hello Mariaepam

I'm sorry to hear about your recent investigations and that it has raised some concerns. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for the biopsy results.

We know that this period of uncertainty can be very difficult for many people and sometimes it can help to talk things through. I wonder if you'd find it beneficial to have a chat with one of our team of nurses. If you'd like to chat with them they'll be back in the office after the bank holiday weekend on 0808 800 4040 (Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm).

I hope that you have some news soon. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
