Hysteroscopy

Hi,

I was just hoping for some information please.  I've had a hysteroscopy today, I had a thickened lining show up on an ultrasound with polyps  Today's test has shown no polyps and my womb looked ok.  Do you think it would be foolish of me to think I am in the clear, or is it possible to have bad news even if the womb looked ok? Thank you.

  • Hi,

I'm so sorry that I can't answer this question but I wanted to ask about your experience of the procedure. I am due to have one in a few weeks and I am so scared about it. I have ultra sound scans booked in too.

I hope that someone can answer your question for you.

  • Hi Elleb7

i had the exact same experience at my hysteroscopy yesterday. I had been told thickened endometrium and cystic areas on ultrasound but clear cavities on hysteroscopy(no polyps) but biopsy taken s as me now I'm just confused.
have you had any results yet, hope all ok got you x

  • Hi All

ive got thickened endiometrial lining (18mm). Went for my hysteroscopy last week but it had to be abandoned as they found more polyps and my cervix was tightly closed. I was called yesterday for the hysteroscopy to take place under general anaesthetic next Tuesday to include polyectomy and biopsy. They did get one polyp from my outer cervix but still waiting results.

Lizzie - in reply to your question the procedure was very painful for me but I have scarring from previous procedures abd the fact my cervix wouldn't dilate didn't help. Just let them know if you feel uncomfortable.

Elle - the waiting is the hardest. It's very worrying but I am trying to remain positive. I've read some really good outcomes but at the same time I am preparing for all possible outcomes. Hopefully I'll know more next week as I had bloods done today too. Mine has been quite rushed which makes me worry but I'm trying not to consult Dr Google!

please keep in touch and let me know how you all get on

  • Hello Elle .  I'm going through exactly the same thing and due to have hysteroscopy on wed.  I can't help worrying. The waiting is horrible.

How did you get on? I hope you had positive results.

  • Hi, it sounds ok, but if you had a biopsy taken then you will have to wait for those results and are usually given a follow up appointment with the results. The waiting is a worrying time so try to keep busy.

  • Hi Daffodil, did you get any results? I'm in a similar situation to you.

  • Hi wondering how everyone is getting on? Hope everyone is well.
