Red flag for gynaecologist

Hey, I went to my routine smear test yesterday ( which was late by a year due to covid and being pregnant)

the doctor said she seen a redness at one side and lump and has red flagged me now to get seen by a gynaecologist. The last time I had a smear I had abnormal cells and had to get them burnt off.
I have had no symptoms. But when I was pregnant I had some bleeding and got checked then, the doctor said I had polyps and something else ( can't remember the name).
so while I'm trying to stay calm I'm wondering is it somthing to do with that.
if anyone has been in a similar situation I'd love to hear

  • Hello alixandra,

It's difficult to know really at this stage what it might be and whether it is related to what you had during your pregnancy but it won't be long now before you get seen by a specialist and get some proper answers.

Trying to stay calm and to keep busy while waiting is definitely the best strategy and avoid looking anything up online as this will only make you feel more worried.

I hope that you will hear from others here who have been in a similar situation and that they will be along shortly to share their story with you.

Everything crossed for you that it turns out to be nothing to worry about!

    Best wishes,
