I've been to the Breast clinic today after I was referred by my GP following finding a lump in my right breast. So i know how you're feeling.
At the breast clinic today I was examined by a consultant, then sent for an ultrasound where they then followed up with a biopsy. I didnt have a mammogram because I'm under 40. But the examination, mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy all form the assessments to find out the cause. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have based on my experience today.
After the ultrasound the consultant has said she thinks it's a cluster of fibroadenoma's but wanted the biopsy to be sure. So I'll now have a 2 week wait for the results.

Oh have you, its really an emotional and worrying time isn't it. Remember 9 in 10 people are non-cancerous. When she examined me this morning she told me to check your breasts you should stroke them, not push your fingers in to feel. She demonstrated it. I thought what if she doesn't feel it doing that, but she did. She then also said she wanted my left breast to be checked on the ultrasound as she felt something but thankfully that was clear, just the right breast lump I had felt. But when you go they will check both plus under the armpits.
Yes the wait now will be horrible. Just trying to keep positive and not worry.
i have my breast appointment too on April 12th! We can do this! Although I am just as scared and worried. Fingers crossed for you that everything turns out to be fine xx
Thankyou for asking, honestly this morning I woke up feeling ok got on with my daily duties very productive but now I have sat down I'm thinking way into what my appointment and future is going to hold! Very scared of what I may be told! How are you? Xx
Aw they must sense you are feeling anxious. My appointment on the 12th is my first visit to the breast clinic, unsure if I will be waiting for results unless they can tell me on the day what's wrong xx
