Tonsilitis??

Hi, I'm just after some advise! I've had 'tonsilitis', for just over two months now, I've had two lots of antibiotics, after the first lot, it came back a couple of days later, and the second lot, it came back about a week later. Currently, I don't have any white spots on my tonsils, they're just swollen, and feel scratchy. Whereas before, I had white spots all over them. I went to the GP yesterday and got swabbed for thrush, I find out in a few days. The main symptoms I have with the swollen tonsils, is fatigue and sometimes achy muscles. I've been reading a lot online, and found out that having HPV(which I have), can cause Tonsil cancer, which has now made me really worried!! If it was cancer, would the symptoms have subsided with the antibiotics or not? My heads all over the place now, I'm still waiting to hear from.my GP, but I wouldn't mind some advice from here too, thank you!

    I'm not sure if you've heard back from your GP just yet but if you're still waiting I just wanted to let you know we're sending our support your way and will have our fingers crossed for good news.

    Hi there, I know this post is a little old now but I was wondering how you are and if you had any answers. I am currently having the same problems/symptoms and went for an MRI yesterday, so feel your pain and worry. 
    I have had 4 lots of antibiotics now, they seem to work at the time but as soon as I finish it comes back again.

    would love to hear how you have got on x

    Hi, sorry for the late reply. I hope you are well. The MRI came back showing something next to my left tonsil. Consultant thinks it could be an abscess - I'm not sure as I had already had 4 lots of antibiotics by that point so thought it would have cleared up. He seemed positive though as said due to my age (35) and being healthy otherwise he thought the chances of anything more serious were low. I'm having them both removed next week and it will be sent off for testing.

    Katielf9 ,thank you for getting back to me. 

    May i ask you if you have any other symptoms? I am fighting with my ent, who told me that is not cancer,but refuses to book me for a tonsillectomy, feel like left  out of the boat, tbh 

    I have booked a private surgery (will cost me a fortune), but i have to, i can feel it in my mouth and feel my neck stiff as well ,also, i have experience some rheumatic pain in elbow.

    Just wanted to say please don't worry if you are in agony after the op! I was iny late twenties and omg 3 days after the op all the bruising came out inside my mouth/throat and I literally slept for 2 weeks and was on co codamol max strength for like a month. It was the best thing I did though as afterwards my health really improved.
