White spots and bleeding on the cervix

Hi everyone,  I wonder if anyone can offer any expereineces. I had a visit to the hospital yesterday after being referred by my Dr for bleeding after menopause.  The hospital looked at my cervix and said they could see white spots and bleeding and so took a biopsy. I had breast cancer 8 years ago and had been on tamoxifen, so the Dr said it could be caused by this. But my understanding is tamoxifen can cause cervical cancer so now im terrified. Has anyone has a similar experience?

  • Hello Headley,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your biopsy results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be and try not to think that this is necessarily caused by the Tamoxifen. Your doctor will soon be able to tell you more and to explain things to you in detail and say whether this is indeed linked to the Tamoxifen or not. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have had a similar experience and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
