lumps near my thyroid gland?

hi so u know there is the bone in the middle of your neck and there is your thyroid gland. on either side of my neck centre sort of diagonally down from my earlobe near the bone in the middle i can feel some lumps. i may be overreacting and these could just be glands as i have them on both sides. i overthink everything and just don't want it to be bad. they are quite firm so i'm not sure if they are lumps or just part of my neck in general

if someone could reassure or just give me advice that would be very helpful

  • Hi

I have 13 blocked lymph glands in that area some which I can feel and some I cant  i have yearly ultra sounds to check there not growing they are all beign I ve have a previous biopsy to check and from what the consultant has told me are fairly common.

If you are at all worried contact your gp and they can arrange for an ultrasound

  • Hi,

I found lumps in my neck and went to see the GP, he was able to refer me swiftly to the head and neck lump clinic. I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer which was treatable and I have now been cancer free for 3 years.

Despite having most of the lymphnodes in my neck removed, I have since found lumps in my neck which I get checked. These are reactive lymphnodes and appear when I have a cold, feel ill or run down. They are just doing their job.

If you are worried, go and see your GP, better that than putting it off and it getting worse.
