I am looking for some advice please.
I had my first mammogram last week at age 40 after going to the breast clinic about a small lump in my left breast. The lump turned out to be a cyst, but apparently I have a 4-5mm area of calcification in a cluster in the same area. The doctor has me booked in for a stereotactic biopsy next week, but in her words 'her head tells her its benign' and that she's very happy that its in the same place as the cyst as cysts can cause the calcification. Apparently they have a low threshold for biopsy, so I can have one anyway.
So looking for similar stories really as I'm going between being paralysed with fear, and thankful if it is something that its been caught early.
Also, will I be able to drive myself home after the biopsy, and how long do the results take?
