I was booked in for an ultrasound on Thursday for a lump on my lymph node, but when the doctor had a look, there were two lumps both on my thyroid. I was a little annoyed as my GP was so certain it wasn't on my thyroid at my original appointment, and the scan doctor said I should have been referred straight to that department .
Anyway the first lump was just a cyst but the second was a solid mass which she couldn't identify so she took a few samples from it and she's sent them off to the thyroid department. I know it's so unlikely to be cancer but it's so hard not to think about it/google etc.
The doctor seemed to think I'll get results back in a week or so, she said Covid has cleared the backlog that used to delay things. I'm trying not to pin my hopes on such a speedy turnaround! Not really sure of the point of this post but posting felt better than just continuing to google...!
