Worried I might have lymphoma

Hi

I'm new to all of this, only joined today and not really sure where to start.  I had to go to a&e 3 weeks ago due to chest pain, pain in my neck, shoulder and collarbone all in the left side, palpitations, weakness in my left side, fatigue, shortness of breath, weight loss and night sweats . After ruling out any heart problems they put it down to a reaction to the medication I was taking (erelzi injections for rheumatoid arthritis). Additional findings were cervical chain lymphadenopathy and mild neutrophilia. The doctor on a&e told me to go back to ambulatory care the next day for consideration of CT TAP but the doctor on the day decided against it and told me to hold out for 2 weeks incase it was just my meds (which I've been off for a month now), she seemed unaware of the findings in a&e saying I had no lymph nodes up.

That bring me to now weakness, breathlessness and chest pain has all cleared up but everything else is still the same. I went back to ambulatory care today as I have a lymph node up in my neck and the pain still, she said she couldn't feel anything and it's most likely muscle/tendons, added an LDH blood test to my bloods and booked me in for an ultrasound on my neck next week. She seemed to discard all my other symptoms and didn't think there was anything to worry about. Also had red pin *** spots pop up on my left arm and chest over the last 2 weeks which she said was nothing. The medication I was on can (on rare occasions) cause lymphoma and I'm just a little lost at the moment. I know I'm probably overreacting but I'm really scared. I'm 37 and a single mom and carer for my disabled son and mom, I dont want to worry my mom with it all so playing it down but she is noticing how fatigued I am and having to wash my bedding every day. Will the ultrasound show if it is something bad?

Sorry for the long post but dont really feel in have anywhere else to turn at the moment xxx

  • Hello Kellw

I'm sorry to hear about the health concerns that you're dealing with at the moment. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things and hopefully, the ultrasound that is planned for you later this week will bring some reassurance.

If the ultrasound doesn't bring any answers then do get in touch with your GP to discuss your symptoms and the tests you've had so far. They will be best placed to arrange any appropriate referral to a specialist to further investigate what may be going on for you.

I do hope that you have some answers soon and that things improve.

    Best wishes,
