Lump on leg

I have previously had breast cancer in 2017. ER and HER2+.

I had a lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy. This was followed with FEC-T chemotherapy, 20 sessions of radiotherapy and 18 herceptin treatments. I now only take Tamoxifen daily.

I found a hard lump on my leg just off the shin bone. I went to the GP in February as I am not due to see my oncologist until April.

Two GP's looked at my leg and instantly said it's not a fatty lump or any muscular lump and due to the history of BC they have referred me to oncology. I have an ultrasound booked for April 8th.

Can anyone shed some light on this? How worried should I be?

Thanks!!

  • Hello Jenna

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with a concern about a new lump at the moment. It's understandable with your history that you may be feeling anxious about things.

It's good to hear that you have a referral in the pipeline and scan arranged for April 8th. Hopefully, they will be able to give you some answers and reassurance about things quickly.

In the meantime, you might find it beneficial to have a chat with one of our team of nurses. I'm sure they will be able to give you some advice and support whilst you're waiting. If you would like to speak to them they're available Monday to Friday from 9 am to5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch Jenna and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
