Second Biopsy

Hi All,

I am wondering if anyone has ever been sent for a second biopsy? I got my results today for my breast biopsy and I was told it's benign tissue but we want you to come back in and see the consultant and repeat the biopsy? obviously very pleasing hearing the words benign,but just concerned why they want to repeat the biopsy? I asked what the benign lump was and questioned if it is a fibroidanoma as originally suspected to be told no it's tissue.

Any advice would be appreciated, Thank you!

    I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with a health concern recently. I'm sure it was a great relief to hear that your recent biopsy didn't reveal any issues. 

    We have had ladies post here in the past who have had repeat biopsies and sometimes this can be because the pathology results weren't definitive or the sample wasn't large enough. 

    It's understandable that you may be feeling anxious but try to remain positive about things. If you'd like to have a chat with one of our nurses you're most welcome to give them a call.
