Lump on hip

Hi

I hoped (as I'm sure everyone does,) I would never need to look on cancer websites. 

I went to the doctors yesterday with a large lump on my hip. The lump is approx. 10cms and I have been referred for an urgent ultrasound. I first noticed it on Saturday. 

That's it really. I'm writing this because I've done the stupid thing and looked on the Internet and can't switch off from the fact that I may have cancer. I alternate between feeling sick and teary and hopeful. I know I don't really know anything yet but felt the need to reach out, hope that's okay.

    I'm sorry to hear that you're waiting on an ultrasound at the moment for a lump you've recently discovered. It's good to hear that you already have the appointment lined up and you don' have to wait too long. 

    I know that many of our members here will understand how difficult this period of waiting for tests and results can be. Do try to avoid searching Google any further for answers. Unfortunately, it won't give you definitive answers but will most certainly leave you feeling even more anxious.
