Hi, for the past 3 months Iv been waking up numerous times in the night with severe back pain, as the time has got on it has started hurting in my stomach and sides too. I wake up in agony and the whole of my middle back and stomach just tightens and spasms and the pain is unbearable. (Feels like I'm in labour!) I went to the gp10 weeks ago who ordered an xray and blood tests which came back normal. She referred me to the musculoskeletal specialist who I saw last week. I had an mri but they had scanned my lumbar spine instead of the thoracic so without seeing the results there was nothing she could do. I have a mri on my thoracic spine next Sunday so hoping and praying something shows up! I have been given all sorts of painkillers which have had no effect! Once I get up the pain eases within an hour and a half to just a ache/twinge which doesn't stop me doing my daily activities. I had a kidney infection last week too which wasn't helping the situation, I have been on antibiotics for it and that has now cleared up. Has anyone else had this sort of problem before? I just need to no what is wrong with me.
