Worried

I woke up in December with pelvic pain and discharge. Called the gp who diagnosed thrush. (I work in health care and know thrush rarely causes pain). I waited a week, pain got worse so went to 111 who saw me out of hours. He pushed my stomach, ruled out my appendix and sent me home. Another week went by and the pain was unbearable. Managed to finally see my gp, had internal (scarlet red cervix) and started on antibiotics. Swabs and bloods were negative. Four weeks later antibiotics no help, ended up in a&e, was saw for 8 minutes (told it was a Sunday and they don't run tests)..

Went back the next day on advice from the gp, ran bloods for infection, negative.

Week later gp saw me again still inflammed cervix, another course of antibiotics. One week later she sent me to gyne, they did more swabs (negative) and booked for a ultrasound. Ultrasound next day negative no issues with ovaries/uterus/tubes..

Still got yellow discharge still in agony, ambulance was called as I was in so much pain, took back to gyne, waited 2hrs sent home.. All in all was told its inflammation and it will go away.

15 weeks later here I am, in terrible pain from the belly button down and still yellow discharge. I asked for a mri scan and was refused as my symptoms don't warrant one, I have managed however to get a urgent gyne appointment finally for Monday...

Is there anything I need to push for?

I'm terrified it's cancerous in there and people are fobbing me off. Gp said my urine is negative so not bladder and my poo is clear so not bowel cancer??

Scared :(

  • Hello Glowstarz21,

It's great you managed to get an urgent appointment for Monday. I just wanted to wish you the best of luck for tomorrow. Make sure you give them all the details about your symptoms and what has happened to you in the last few weeks. Explain that 15 weeks on you still experience terrible pain from the belly button down and that you have yellow discharge.

Don't worry you will be in expert hands and hopefully they will be able to look into this properly. I hope you will hear from other members who have been in a similar situation before and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

Best of luck for your appointment - everything crossed for you!

    Best wishes,
