I had pain in my breast in my breast since end of January, I got referred to the breast clung but because of my age they never scanned me (I'm 24.) I went back to the GP today after the pain continued, they've found a lymph node in my left side, is this something I should be worried about or not really? Of course the Dr said she'd be surprised if it is but because of my family history she could never rule it out. Anyone who's had the same problem and it turned out to be nothing? Fingers crossed it turns out to be nothing, any responses would be greatly appreciated

    Lymph nodes can be raised for a number of reasons - it sounds as if the doctor isn't too concerned but I appreciate the uncertainty and the continuing pain must be a little unsettling. Hopefully they have referred you again and if so I hope this proves more useful - you can explain your previous experience and that you'd like to know what's going on and push for a scan if you need to.

    Hi Gove,

    I have just read your post and sounds kind of similar to what I am experiencing. Where abouts is your lymph node located on the left if you don't mind me asking?

    I'm only asking as I found lump in right breast on the inside years ago I seen gp and he told me was a cyst.. I didn't know back then they can not diagnose this without a ultrasound anyway years have past but recently this 'cyst' has made my right breast bigger than my left and feels as though I have thicker breast tissue this alarmed me so I went to GP she said everything was normal I said I wasnt happy anyway long story short I got my referral yesterday and had ultrasound... The 'cyst' turned out to be a lymph node? Which apparently is fine but if it gets bigger and stays big then I should get referred again. So everything was okay thank goodness. I hope you get on okay. Why can they not do ultrasound on you? I'm only 26 and they did ultrasound on me maybe you should request again x
