Hi everyone,
I feel really silly even writing this because, currently, my problem isn't even a problem. But maybe someone can give me some advice or reassurance...
It started in 2019 with an extremely itchy vulvar, but I thought nothing of it, it would go away eventually. Then, around this time last year, just before the first lockdown, I thought I'd give the Dr a go. It was a telephone appointment, because *** was already starting to get real, and he suggested I use Vagisil. I used it to no avail. Then he prescribed antibiotics and hydrocortisone cream, again, neither worked. By this point though, we were in full blown lockdown and I just thought that my itchy bits weren't as important as all the other stuff that was happening in the world!
The itching just got worse and worse. I had occasional spotting, but with a coil I wasn't and still am not phased by this. In the last few months, I've noticed a swelling in my vulvar and a lot of pressure when I go to the toilet (both) and when I sit. In the same time I have also had sharp pain in my ovaries and back, more often than not on the left side only, but it does sometimes happen to both sides. I had a smear test last week and it was the single most pain I've felt in a long time and of course we all know they aren't painful, but I actually cried out!
I saw the nurse practioner yesterday, who looked at it and actually said "urgh" ! She said that it didn't look normal and so is referring to a gynae, who she thinks will probably want to take a biopsy. She's also booked me in for an ultrasound on my ovaries, which will be 28th April. I am so nervous, as I'm sure you are all too aware of. I don't even really know what I want to say, I just wanted to get it all out and say something.
Thanks for taking the time to read my rambles!
