Awaiting results

Hello, i recently went to the doctors after having a sore throat every morning for around 4 months. They did a chest x-ray which was clesr and then an ENT doctor looked down my nose and throat with a little camera. He said there is a small cyst where im getting symptoms. I then got sent for an MRI and i am awaiting results. Noone has mentioned cancer however i feel thats what they are looking for or looking to rule out. Im 24 with persistent sore throat and earache on one side. Both doctors ive seen have mentioned the fact i have very large tonsils. Has anyone had similar symptoms and what was your diagnosis please? Apologies for posting on here i am just very nervous that it may turn out to be cancer. Thank you in advance.

  • Hello Colo,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your MRI results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
