Lumps in armpit and one found in the breast.

Hello,
I have been reading many of the posts shared on here, these past few weeks and was wondering if anyone would be able to share any light? (I've been unable to find posts with similar experiences).

Three months ago, I noticed a lump under my armpit very firm, and unpainful. It is only noticeable when I lift my arm over up but it is at least two fingertips possibly three in length.

So I went to the doctors last week, to have it assessed. The nurse surprisingly shared she could feel in total three lumps, one deep and two very firm. She shared that my age being 27, means it's highly just an infection or a previously unnoticed lump but referred me to the hospital.

I have my appointment on Monday 22nd, at the breast clinic, it will of been under two weeks since my original appointment. I have been on antibiotics for almost a month (due to a strep condition) and a little concerned that if these lumps were caused by an infection my antibiotics would have helped reduce/heal.

But since my doctors' appointment, I have also found a lump deep within my right breast (the same side as my armpit) to the right but lower in the breast, not above the nipple.

Can anyone share what the breast clinic appointment will be like? What information I should share with them?

Thank you for your time.

  • Hello BethTS39,

A warm welcome to Cancer Chat. You did the right thing in going to the doctor to get these lumps looked at and it's great that they are being thorough and have referred you to the breast clinic. Only two days to go now before your appointment. As you have found another lump deep within your right breast since you had your doctor's appointment, don't forget to mention that and give them all the details as to where this new lump is located when you see them on Monday. They will want to know about this.

Breast Cancer Care have a great booklet on what to expect from your breast clinic appointment which you can easily access here. I hope that it will answer a lot of the questions you may be asking yourself at this stage and if you wanted to talk to our nurses on Monday ahead of your appointment, you can get in touch with them on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I hope that other ladies who have been seen at the breast clinic recently will come forward and share their experiences with you. It does help to talk to others here who have been in a similar position before.

    Best wishes,
