Multiple Lumps - Urgent Haematology Referral

Hello all,

Like many, it's my first time posting. I guess I'm seeking some similar stories or calming words as despite me usually taking the play it down approach with my health, something just feels more serious this time.

Basically I have lumps in my groin, collarbone, neck & armpit. The former 2 I've known about for roughly 2 years but my GP at the time dismissed them (without even examining) so I trusted her advice & almost forgot about them. However it was my partner who noticed they had grown within those 2 years from your standard pea shape to roughly 2/2.5cm in my groin & 1.5 in my collarbone, plus another 2 in my armpit of similar size & smaller ones in my neck.

In the last year or so I have lost roughly 3 stone - despite loving my food - completely unintended as I wasn't large to start with, the itching has been unbearable the last 6 months but I have excema and psoriasis Despite my whole body covered in cuts etc. It was when we put all this together 2”we noticed more lumps & we are going on 6 months now with only increase in the size of them all.

My doctor first did a full bloody count which came back clear of any infection, just showing low folic count. He at first ordered multiple ct scans but then after seeing me last put in an urgent referral direct to haematology. Naturally, that has sent my head into a complete spin & suddenly my health anxiety is so intense I've convinced myself it's lymphoma.

Is there anybody who has noticed so many lumps, in multiple places alongside the other symptoms that has had a different diagnosis to the one we all dread?

Thanks

  • Hello Lk1323,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your haematology appointment. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to find out more about this.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have had similar multiple lumps and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
