Hello everyone,
I posted to the forum a while ago, I have had a pain in my left shoulder for just over a year now. Absolutely no reason for it, however it was severe enough to stop me in my tracks, struggled to Hoover/drive so my late partner took me to A&E. I was given an x-ray, immobilising sling and cortisone injection, told it was frozen shoulder and asked to return. On my return after a few weeks I was told it was a rotator cuff tear and given physio (carried on over the year) and an ultrasound scan. The ultrasound showed suspected calcification on my shoulder bone but it was not investigated further, I was told I do not have a rotator cuff tear. I am in absolute agony still and struggling to sleep, my doctor told me they had referred me as urgent to the orthopaedics but I’m now 3 weeks into waiting and still no closer to a diagnosis. My family have very severe cancer on both sides (many relatives lost to it this last 2 years) I’m worried it could be a type of bone cancer but how on earth do I approach my GP again? I think Iv rung them every week, I’m so so tired of the pain I just want it to stop and be able to use my arm properly. I’m taking 30/500mg co-codamol but it’s not helping, I cannot take ibuprofen as I’m asthmatic, Iv also tried hot water bottle. Sorry for the long post & thanks for reading/responding! x
