I'm sorry you're going through all of this. Please be assured your doctor is doing the right thing. Unfortunately the doctor can't confirm anything until CT/PET Scans results . A shadow can be anything and the CT scan will be able to show for definite what it is.

It's natural to be worried but please trust the doctors. They are just doing their investigations and I'm glad they are.

Hi Annie thank you for replying. I really do trust my gp she is a really nice lady very supportive to this I'm going through. I've been on edge a bit and now the waiting for results will get me anxious having to 7 days but have said they could call sooner. So will take one day at time for now. Thank so much for post. I will chat with you when I get my results. As if its lung cancer will need someone like you to chat with as I will be upset. And I really do not know what to except as no one in my family have had lung cancer but my grandad had tumor in brain and 14 months after. My mums sister had cancer of her womb and had hysterectomy and survived and my nanna my mums mum had stomach cancer in April 2016 and only lived for 3 months as in July 2016 she passed away still miss my nanna so much as she was my rock always there for me. So much wish I could talk to her but I can't. Then I have my husband who is awesome and he will be there for me if cancer but its nice to talk to somewhere who is going through any cancer that we all can help each other one way or another. Hi Joby,

So sorry to hear that. I'm glad you have your husband you can speak to. There are also advice lines on Macmillan cancer charity and even cancer research. They've helped me a lot with coming to terms with my dads cancer diagnosis.  My only advice would be not to google anything because statistics are out of date. They are also not person specific too. Cancer affects everyone differently and in recent years it's becoming something that is more easier to treat. I always say to my dad the word cancer is scarier than the actual disease. Advancements in medicine in the past 10 years have been incredible and we're hearing so many more survivor stories. 
 

My dad was recently diagnosed and he's due to start treatment next week. He's stage 3 lung cancer but the oncologist wants to treat dad for 1 month with the intent to cure. We couldn't ask for anything better. Obviously time will tell how dad responds to treatment. My dad has been keeping positive and that will definitely help him during his treatment.

Hello Annie.

I had phone of my doctors receptionist today at 2.00pm she said scan results back but doctor needs check them first she said doctor might ring before closing at 6.30pm tonight. But I got text of my doctors say that doctor will phone me tomorrow at 10.20am. I'm a bag of nerves. I know I won't sleep tonight but will try to sleep if I can. So just over 15hours I will know what it will be. So please tell your dad I hope chemo goes well for him and will say a few prayers for him and you. Will know sometime tomoro. Hello Annie.

I got my Ct Scan results today. I've cryed I've been angry and got my head around it all. I have 2.5cm so it's small. I've been referred back to  hospital by my gp to see a lung consultant and a biopsy will be next thing to do. I'm OK at moment no pain and feel well for now. So no guessing it's here and now the road to fight it. Hope your well. Take care. Joby. Xx

So sorry. Please don't panic. Let the doctors take the biopsy and give you a full report on what it actually is. Plus it appears it's only in one lung? It could be very early stages but the doctors will confirm that to you. I know it's not the news you wanted but I'm so grateful it's been caught now.

Thank you Annie your so kind. I'm waiting for Lung specialist got wait upto 2 weeks. I'm having an heart monitor connected to me on Thursday at 1.30pm for 24 hours because the sharp pain from left lung sets my heart raising so they want to see what it does so they will know from the readings when I take monitor back of me Friday. Hi, sorry to hear ur going through a bad time xx I’ve just gone through endometrial and thought come through it when a ct to check if clear came up with 2 shadows on lungs, so had pet scan 2 days ago and oncologist wants to see me on Tuesday, so very scared as so quick.

When u say ur having pain is this is your back. I’m having a dull ache in the middle back, it feels stretched and uncomfortable and now worried this is lst symptom of cancer,
