I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with a health concern at the moment. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious ahead of your appointment. 

There can be many reasons for breast changes such as weight loss/gain and hormonal changes. It can help to try and keep in mind that the majority of women referred to breast clinic are not diagnosed with cancer. 

It can sometimes help to talk things through with someone and I'd encourage you to give our nurses a call. I'm sure they will be able to offer you some support and reassurance ahead of your appointment. If you would like to speak to them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hi, I'm 35 and went to the gp in November 2020 concerned about a rash on my right breast. Same as you, I was examined and told everything was normal and sent away. Then this week I found a lump in the same breast and I have also been referred to the breast clinic. It's a very scary time and I feel like I have no one to talk to who will understand. The gp told me to stay off Google though, which is very hard to do whilst you're waiting and desperate for answers. My concern is my daughter, I am a single parent and she has anxiety (as do I). I'm just trying to keep busy and distracted. Hope you are coping ok. X

So sorry to hear that you are going through it! I know what you mean about google - don't do it, it only makes it worse! Really wish I hadn't looked. 
 

I'm finding it really hard to concentrate at work in particular, it's like my mind is just constantly filled with what ifs. My appointment is on Monday, which will be exactly 2 weeks since I saw the GP. I'm scared of going on my own but even more so of hearing bad news on my own.

I am just absolutely convinced that it is breast cancer - it looks a right mess :(

The best of luck for Monday, I only saw the gp on Thursday and still waiting for my appointment letter. I was hoping it would arrive today, how long did yours take to cone through? It's so easy to convince yourself of the worst, I tend to do that in any difficult situation so as to feel more "prepared". I hope you get through the week ok, feel free to message me on here (I think there's a message function?!) if you need to vent to someone going through the same thing. X 

I got a call on Wednesday and they booked me in for the earliest appointment that they had - try not to worry, it'll come through soon :) 

Yes! I do this too! I've YouTubed procedures and all sorts ‍♀️

UPDATE:

Went to the breast clinic this morning. Had an exam and the doctor said she could feel the lump so sent me for an ultrasound. Ultrasound showed up absolutely nothing! And so I was sent home. 
 

The mind boggles bit will just keep an eye on it.

UPDATE 2

Revisited the doctors today due to feeling a limp where the dimple previously was. GP and Nurse Practitioner had a really good feel around and both confirmed there was a lump so I'm now on another 2ww.

I also had the CA125 done yesterday as I have a 12-15cm cyst on my right ovary.

Hi, in Dec 2020, I saw dimpling below my nipple and felt a lump behind it. Went to my gp and was put onto the cancer pathway- I had the mammogram, scan and biopsy which all confirmed breast cancer. In Jan 2021 I had mastectomy of the right breast, plus a second surgery in Feb 2021 for nodes in my right armpit. Then, on top of everything I too have a cyst on my right ovary. Ca125 was normal and I am now being monitored.
But I just wanted to wish you luck my friend. This is an incredibly difficult situation to come to terms with but my surgeon said that breast cancer is 'eminently treatable' and gave me the reassurance I needed to go through this process. 
Mine was caught just in time as the sentinel lymph node was involved and it was about to spread so I was lucky. The mastectomy surgery was relatively fine - my recovery was good. The lymph node surgery in the armpit was more invasive and I am experiencing pain and discomfort after 5 months with a sore shoulder and arm. I had radiotherapy and am on letrozole. 
I urge you to chase up on appointments and avoid delays - every day matters. You matter so reach out and follow up with people.

thank you for your message! I'm trying not to worry, I just feel like I'm having to bang my drum a little as keep being told, "You're only 26, it's probably nothing". But it could be something! If it is the big C, that's okay, I just want to know. The thought of a mastectomy is terrifying though. Thank you for reaching out, it means a lot! Hope you're doing okay!!
