Breast biopsy in 26 year old - no suggestions

Hi all,

This is my first post on here, so I'm sorry if this isn't the right place or protocol.

I'm a 26-year-old, and about two months ago, I found a hard lump in my right breast. I went to the doctors had an examination, and he said it was most likely a cyst but had to refer me anyway.

I had my ultrasound yesterday and they determined it was a solid lump, so I had a biopsy. The thing which worries me is the doctor/nurse didn't say what it could be. The Doctor said there was a chance it was benign but nothing else.

I don't have a family history of cancer, but I do have endometriosis already and a history of smoking, both of which I know can increase my risk.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Im getting quite anxious.

  • Hi love, yes me!  Exactly the same procedure but no one can say until the biopsy  results have come back and  show the true state of what is happening.  I also had endometriosis and a full hysterectomy aged 36 then later lumps in left breast.  They turned out to be fibrous tissue but we're removed under day surgery to stop them growing bigger.  I'm now the grand old age of 72 years and have had no other concerns since, so stay calm and I will check in and see how it goes.  Best wishes, Carol x
