Scared

So i started bleeding last march and thought it was hemorrhoids i spoke to pharmacy as doctors wernt seeing patients as covid had just hit. The treatment didnt work so i ordered somwthing else from a online chemist that didnt work. I kind of just left it and thought it would clear up. Fast forward to Christmas 2020 and my symptoms became worse to the point where my bowels were either constipation or thin stools with tonnes of mucus. The blood which is dark and mixed in is clearly visable and there is bright red blood on wiping. I have become more gassy and the bleeding has become worse. So i finally plucked up the courage to see the doctor who ordered bloods and a fit test. Over the past week i have suffered from bowel incontinence and black tar like stools my appetite isnt good as i feel constantly full. The smell is really strange and the mucus is really bad. The doctor has just rang to say my results are back and the fit was abnormal and my bloods showed vitamin d defiency. They refered me under 2 week wait but i am scared to death as the doctor has just rang and said the referal was sent back and asked to refer to a surgical team as the result are pointing to cancer? What does this all mean has anyone had all this and it not be cancer? Thank you for reading the long post x

  • Hello Mum23three,

What an incredibly stressful time this must be for you. I hope that you get some clarity on this very soon and that you won't have to wait too long to have further investigations if required. Have they mentioned whether you would need to have a colonoscopy?

I hope that you get some proper answers and a definite diagnosis soon. Until then, try not to think too much about what you were told on the phone. I am keeping everything tightly crossed for you.

Do keep us updated if you get a chance as to what they find out. We're all here for you anytime you need to talk.

I hope that you will hear from other members who have been in a similar place before and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,
