Urgent breast referral

Hello.

I have always had tender boobs on and off but more recently it was getting to be a more persistent pain and tingling with also pain, tightness and tingling around my whole shoulder and inside arm down to my fingers.  I did a thorough breast check and found a lump under my nipple towards the bottom of my breast which the doctor also found and has referred me.  She did say she didnt think the pain was related but couldnt say why so im not really convinced.

My appointment is next Frriday and im terrified about what might come of it.  I know that it could be nothing but at the same time I have a 3 1/2 year old and the thought of him asking for Mummy or being upset if i am no longer here and then forgetting me is what hurts the most.

I have only told my partner and boss as i dont want to worrry family unless i need to.  I just wondered if there was anyone on here that might be in a similar position to chat with when we are feeling scared/upset/down.

Laura.

  • Hi

So sorry you are going through this. I have also had an urgent referral from my GP today after finding a lump in my right breast. I should get called with an appointment on Monday.

I have only told my husband so far. Worrying about telling work as I have just had a week off with Covid symptoms.

I have a 6 year old and I've also got those thoughts going through my head.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything goes well at your appointment on Friday. And please feel free to message me about anything.

  • Hi,

Thank you for your message and sorry to hear you are going through it too, its awful isn't it.  One minute i'm distracted by something then the next i'm thinkng what if and googling.

I wouldn't have been able to have the day off so had to say something - i'm sure your work will be really understanding i just hated telling them and not my mum.

I hope everything goes well for you and your appointment isn't to far away - and the same, message if you need to.
