Looking for reassurance and advice..

I've had irregular bleeding for a while and recently I've had a constant bloody discharge. I've been putting it down to the mini pill.

I went to the doctors yesterday to have a coil fitted. The nurse called a doctor in as there was a 'blockage' in my cervix. The dr was very reassuring saying they couldn't get past the growth to insert the coil and would refer me for a scan. That was yesterday and today I received a call asking me to attend a scan tomorrow. Although I'm really pleased it's happening so quickly I can't help but feel alarmed.

has anyone had anything similar? I'm 44 and going out of my mind... I've stupidly been googling which is far from helpful. What can I expect from the scan tomorrow? Assuming it's a vaginal scan? I have limited details as it al feels so rushed...
