Groin cramp and lymph nodes / lumps

I've got a few swollen lumps / lymph nodes either side of my groin they're not painful unless I push down on them and they create weird kind of feeling in my leg but I'm starting to get pain in my right groin - thigh and side of bum / hips and it kind of feels like growing pains but hurts slightly more if I put pressure on to it. This side of my leg and hip area has occasionally gave me some trouble when I get in like a wierd position for example when standing up to shave sometimes it feels like my hip pops out and I get cramp and I have to stop what I'm doing for a bit. I don't know if it's connected. I've got around 4 -5 lumps in my groin 2 are around 2cm the rest feel pee size and I also have a pee size moveable lump underneath my collar bone which also kind of throbs throughout my collar bone and neck / shoulder area.  I'm really worried , I am 19 and I suffer quite badly with health anxiety and I don't know if my anxiety is intesfifying symptoms or maybe I'm just overthinking it so every small pain or symptom I'm putting them all together and blowing up more than it is but I'm also scared if it is serious it's causing me a lot of distress and my parents also know what I'm like and I can be quite a hypochondriac so I feel like they're not taking me seriously but I don't know if it is serious or not.

  • Hello ameliajH,

This is something you should maybe bring up with your GP as they will be in the best position to tell you what the swollen lumps and lymph nodes on either side of your groin might be. So do flag this with your doctor who will be best placed to reassure you. It could also be a good opportunity to mention that you do suffer from health anxiety. This is something doctors are also used to and that they will take very seriously and they will have some good tips for you to help you overcome this debilitating anxiety.
