Symptoms of Lymphoma

Hi,

I have never posted on here before but if someone would be able to give me a bit of guidance then that would be amazing!! I'm 22 and in September 2020 I began having non-epileptic seizures which have continued since. Following this, I found multiple lumps in my neck and by my ear which I was given an urgent ultrasound for. They told me that they were bordering on being enlarged but not suspicious at present. On 31st December 2020 I had a MRI scan due to my seizures which showed bilateral enlarged palatine tonsils and bilateral level 2 and level 3 prominent lymph nodes. I was given an ENT referral which I have chased but apparently I'm just on the waiting list. I have recently been getting severe sores on my chest which won't go (even with antibiotics, creams or steroids). Since last Thursday I also haven non-blanching rashes under both armpits which are severely itchy and getting unbearable. I have been on steroids for these but they will not go. I also have quite a tight chest and difficulty swallowing because of this. I keep getting dismissed my doctors with creams and antibiotics and steroids and nothing is working! I just can't ignore the fact that I have a lot of symptoms of Lymphoma. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you so much,

Brittany x

  • Hi Brittany,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of the difficulties you're going through at the moment and I'm sure the uncertainty is not easy either.

Unfortunately the only thing to really do regarding your symptoms is to speak to your GP if they're getting worse or what they have given you so far isn't helping. Hopefully your referral appointment will come through soon - I'm not sure if you've been given a timescale in which to expect the appointment; if so you can chase this up via the hospital or your doctor if it's been longer than expected.

Wishing you all the best and I hope you find out more soon,

    Ben
