Ovary problems

I am 34 with 4 children and regular periods, 2 weeks ago I spotting and got really worried as it was unusual. After the spotting came pain and I've had a lot of pain and cramps since. The doctor took swabs and they all came back clear. She has referred me on for an ultrasound and has given me some anti biotic cream. Now my back has started to become sore and I've really awful nausea I can't drive or wear jeans only leggings and my period which is usually regular hasn't appeared. Just wondering if anyone else has had any of these symptoms. I have to wait at least 6 weeks for my ultrasound.

  • Hi,

I have a hemmorhagic cyst on my right ovary and some symptoms are similar. I have back pain, thigh pain and horrendous pelvic pain. I should be having surgery within the month as the cyst has been here since August. You may have a ovarian cyst, please let me know if you have any of the symptoms above.

hope you get your results soon,

    Kensy x

  • I don't understand the disparity between waiting times around the country. My ultrasound was the weekend after my GP referred me and i was suffering far less than you. I hope you get seen quicker than you expect x

  • Hi to everyone,

I'm really worried as I think I have ovarian cancer but cannot be found. I have had left pelvic pain for over 6 months, ca125 normal, tvus normal, ct scan normal, but I feel like I need to urinate more often I'm nauseous and I'm not as hungry as before, also I have sciatic pain on and off and my left pelvic pain is there all the time, sometimes stabbing sometimes dull. My periods have started to be irregular.
I don't know what else to do, unable to get an nhs gyno appointment and everyone telling me I'm too young for ovarian cancer, I'm 35.
Can I still have ovarian cancer with normal ultrasound scan?

  • Hi, they found large solid cysts on my ovaries and my ca125 was raised but they still don't know if it's cancer with me. I would pursue the irregular periods with the GP until you're satisfied you know why. Stress and weight loss can affect your menstrual cycle but other things can too. It does seem unlikely that you have cancer with no visible sign but do keep up to date with your smear etc. and tell the doctor of your concerns.

Hope you get to the bottom of your symptoms soon xx

  • Thank you for reply, I have back pain on and off. My pelvic pain is like first day of your period cramps. I don't have any thigh pain. I pray your surgery goes well xx

  • 6 weeks is madness we are advised if we see any changes to see doctor straight away and not to put if off. It's so disheartening to have to wait.
