How long untill ultrasound scan on breast

I am just wondering how long I may be waiting yo go for an ultrasound on my breast, I am thinking times will be longer with covid.

Im only 29 soon to be 30 and found a breast lump a year ago and a smaller one earlier this year I havht thought much of it due to it possible being hormones, taking the pill and my age so put it off, I had pain in it once and never again but is tender to touch if pressed on.

I went to the doctors on Friday 4th match 2021 to just get there opinion as I also thought maybe it was breast tissue and I could just be feeling somthing that isn't anything.

The doctor could feel the lumps so was relieved I was feeling the correct thing, she said the lumps are detached and isn't concerned due to my age but will request me to have an ultrasound to be safe.

I'm not overly concerned myself because most of the time they are benign, will be more relieved in knowing the results.

Thank you x

  • Hi Amybby

I think doctors will be taking you seriously and will act quickly referring you. I was recalled from a mobile mammogram test in December (12th) and by the new year was asked for further tests at hospital (biopsies, mammograms, ultrasounds, MRIs) and given confirmation of breast cancer by 11th January. I was operated on on 23 February. All this despite covid19 and lockdown.

I hope you get your tests quickly just chase the doctor for when you expect to hear back as a referral and dont let them forget. Hopefully you will be fine and ok, but you are right in getting yourself checked out. All the best.
