Hard lymph nodes and firmer testicle

Hi there,

I'm an extremely worried 19 year old guy. I've got a series of slightly hard lymph nodes up my neck (still movable which is positive I think?), some tenderness on my chest and under arm as well as testicles that I think are firmer than they should be. Apart from that I have no other symptoms. I'm a bit of a worrier so my mind's obviously turned to the worst of something like later stage testicular cancer, lymphoma or leukaemia . My local GP hasn't been open over the weekend so I'm going to book in for an appointment tomorrow, I only noticed the nodes in the past few days and I haven't really got any other symptoms. I know nobody here can diagnose or anything I just kinda wanted to vent as I'm really stressed.

Thanks very much,

O

  • i feel like we're going through a very similar situation (although I'm a bit older at 33)

i've hard lymph nodes in my groin and can feel others in my head and neck i've never felt before. feel like i've got some anemic symptoms coming on (cold hands and feet and numbness in my legs) as well as some chest pains but also suffering with anxiety about what it could be quite a lot which doesnt help and may be (hopfully) part of the issue.

had a blood test friday and now just waiting for the results. hope you mananged to get your appointment today and it went well

  • Hey ES1,

Thanks very much for the response, that definitely feels like a similar situation. I hope your blood test results come back ok, please do keep me updated. I've got a phone call scheduled with a GP in a few hours, hopefully the ball will get rolling after that. I've barely slept over the weekend with worry which can't be helping with symptoms either. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

    Thanks again,

    O

  • i'm the same, barely slept for 10 days and if i wake up in the night (which i do frequently) it takes me ages to get back to sleep. had 2 hours awake this morning and all of this of course does nothing to help me relax and recover in any way! just a viscious circle...

cheers and you too...all the best

  • Exactly, it's the last thing we need really. It also doesn't help I've had symptoms of lymphoma in the past without realising, it's safe to say I'm terrified. I'll update here when I have some news and I hope you do too (if you're comfortable in doing so).

    Best wishes!

blood test results have come back clear which has alleyed my fears somewhat. still concerned at a few random symptoms i've got (the doc couldnt really explain the coldness in my hands and feet or numbness in knee) but i'll keep and eye on that, and the lumps and hope i can sleep a bit better tonight!

  • Ah that's really good news, I'm glad to hear it! I guess just keeping an eye on the symptoms and keeping track of everything is the best thing to do.

I had a quick chat with the GP who told me to get a Covid test and see what my result is. I'm highly doubting I'll have it as I tested positive last year and the symptoms seem too different but I'll keep in contact with the GP as much as possible. He didn't seem massively concerned which put me at ease slightly but I'll try and get all the tests I can if I have to call back.

  • Cheers, already feel much better mentally

Getting a covid test seems a bizarre suggestion but hey ho, go with it I guess and see what everything else says

  • That's exactly what we like to hear!

Yeah, that was my thought, was hoping I'd have my result by now to call the GP back but alas no luck as yet. I'm not feeling too hopeful about it but we'll see what happens!

  • So GP didn't seem incredibly worried but has still referred me for blood tests on Friday. I'm still really worried but glad the ball's rolling :)
