Reactive nodes but new lumps showing up?

Hi all,

I posted here a while ago regarding some lumps I found in my neck. I found two behind my jaw below my ear, spoke with my doctor about it and had MANY blood tests (all normal bar low vitamin D). I then had one show up in my groin and one show up in my neck, both maybe bean sized and hard/rubbery. Had a fast track 'suspected head and neck cancer' appointment with an ENT who was as supposed to do numerous tests on me, was supposed to be with him for a few hours. He asked me what my issues were where the lumps were etc, didn't really listen to me and felt my face?? And none of the lumps I had Said it was my salivary gland and was extremely dismissive of me. I was in and out within 3 minutes. Told me he would order a ultrasound to put my mind and ease.

Had the ultrasound and that doctor told me all my lymph nodes were up, all over my body and asked have I had certain tests etc and that he wanted me to get a blood test IN the hospital. Said they're not normal but also not sure if abnormal so reactive but since they've been present for a few months that my body is clearly fighting something and should probably find out what since they're not going away.

I moved so had to change doctor and scheduled an appointment with him to fill him in and ask for a blood test in the hospital.
The day before the appointment alcof a sudden a huge node has appeared on my left collarbone around the size of a large grape, along with multiple smaller ones all clustered beside it. Area is somewhat swollen also but completely painless.

I go to my appointment and he says since my other nodes were reactive he believes this one also will be, but since it's shown up out of the blue he's ordered a chest X-ray. Also said if this comes back clear then there is nothing else to do but sit and wait to see if they disappear.

Now I know it's common to get anxiety over things like this, hence me being on here but I genuinely feel like something is wrong and I'm being dismissed. I want to know why my lymph nodes are being like this. I am not currently ill nor have I been since these appeared.

To add some context this has been ongoing since early January- I've been extremely fatigued to the point I can walk for 30 minutes and then need to lay down for a few hours.

I don't know why I am even writing this lol, has anymore had both reactive and cancerous nodes. This new node has really frightened me.

  • Hello Razz98

I'm sorry to hear that you're still feeling unwell and that you've had more lymph nodes appear swollen.

It sounds reassuring that all your tests to date have been normal but it's good that your new GP is following up this new concern with a chest x-ray. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for that.

Do talk to your GP about your concerns as they will be best placed to offer you some advice and support.

I hope that things improve soon.

    Best wishes,
