Hi,
Can someone please tell me the process of a biopsy? I am having an ultrasound with possible biopsy on Tuesday and would like to understand the process of having one. If I do have one it'll be on the glands in my neck.
Many thanks,
Robyn x

What are the other symptoms that you have? Also how long have the lumps been there?
Jld21 - Almost similar to me, except (so far from what I can feel, it's only been just over 2 weeks) on left side jaw, about a smallish grape size, def bigger than pea, and on right side jaw (submandibular area also) there's one that's stayed to grow that's slightly smaller but noticeable. Then after that I got a small pea sized stony but moveable lump around my left collarbone area, and then another started growing on right side base of neck just in front of shoulder muscle area.
Like everyone, off to dr google I went, and it's maddening cause I can't tell if it's possibly lymphoma related or salivary gland cancer related, but why would both salivary glands be swollen at the same time, as from what I have seen on YouTube and photos etc, it's usually just the one side.
ah sorry, rant over, thanks for listening, there aren't many people I been able to talk to about this.
Rick.
I've had the lumps since October/November, started off small, grown to about the size of a large marble. You can't see them they go inwards, they haven't grown outwards of that makes sense. I also am extremely fatigued all the time, my body also feels tired, weak, heavy and achy. Had shortness of breath, was given an inhaler but doesn't help too much. My whole body is very itchy, no rash though x
Don't be sorry! It's nice to have someone to chat to that is going though the same thing. I hope you get some scans and results soon to put your mind at rest. I can't help googling, I'm terrible!
Jld21-21 I know what you mean, I wasn't googling as much as I was 2 weeks ago, I found using these forums a lot less stressful. I'm really hoping they won't grow any larger, and that my scan is fairly soon. Thing is, the gp I saw said in order for a a quick referral, he needed to justify it, but since bloods were "satisfactory" and from physical examination he didn't seem bothered (i literally got a 10 minute lecture on more or less being paranoid) I can't see that happening.
Saying that, if it does take longer, I suppose it will suck, be there will be a timeline to see if the lumps grow any bigger, i suppose.
Rick
Robyn - apologies for hijacking your thread, didn't mean to!
Your symptoms are very similar to me. I am always incredibly itchy, very tired all the time (I am 22 and already going to bed at 7, if not having to nap throughout the day), I also find it a little harder to breathe especially at night when I am lying down it feels like someone is sat on my chest!
No problem at all! It's good to hear from other people!!
Have the offered you a chest X-ray for the shortness of breath? I'm thinking i might ask for one x
Just wondering, can an ultrasound also not scan the chest area, or do you need an actual x ray machine for that?
