Two concerning lumps

Hi  everyone, hope you're keeping well

Basically I'm 20 and I've had a hard, painless, pea-sized lump under my chin for probably over a year now. My parents told me not to worry about it so I didn't, since it hasn't changed or grown.

Two weeks ago I kept getting gradually more tired and fatigued and felt a swelling in my mouth and after inspection, found that I had a swollen red lump on my one tonsil. To my horror, I also noticed redness in my mouth and swollen lumps at the back of my tongue. Within a week I have developed a cough and very hoarse voice my tiredness has only gotten worse. My parents thought it was tonsilitis but I went to see my GP who told me, after two weeks of having this, to wait another 1-2 weeks before coming back!! The lump looks nasty, and I'm worried that both that and the one under my chin could be connected. I've also experienced minor difficulties in breathing and swallowing and persistent itching and pins and needles.

My nan only passed of cancer a few days ago so I can't really bring it up with my parents and I'm worried sick . I still have to wait a while until I can see my GP again which seems totally unfair, as does the fact that he refused to even look in my mouth the first time .

Thanks

  • Hello Luke33

I'm sorry to hear about the recent passing of your Nan and the health concerns that you're dealing with at the moment as well. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things.

Do get back in touch with your GP and let them know that things haven't improved and that you've experienced some other minor issues.

I hope that things improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
