Hello Tricia18
I'm sorry to hear that you've needed some investigations recently and that you're now in the difficult period of waiting for results. I think most of our members here will understand how anxiety-inducing this time can be.
It's impossible for us to say what this cyst could be but hopefully your Dr will now have all the information needed to make a proper diagnosis. Have they said when you will hear or what the next steps will be?
If you'd like to chat things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to give them a call. they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.
Best wishes,

Hi thanks so much for your taking your time to reply back to me, I've spoke with my consultant and he has made me an emergency appointment with the gynaecologist so I'm just waiting on my this coming through
is a 8cm "cyst" a normal size with there being anything ontoward ?
many thanks
Tricia
Hi Tricia, as far as I understand with cysts they don't know until it's biopsied or observed over time. I'm having 2 removed. I don't know what age you are but it's unusual to have ovarian cancer premenopause but doctors seem to be very cautious nonetheless. I had the scans the other way round. I don't know what the benefits of an ultrasound after MRI are but the doctors will know what they're looking for. I've read lots of stories where even larger cysts are benign, the majority are, but they take them seriously. Hoping you get info soon and everything is all okay once they decide what they're doing. Keep me updated x
