First appointment for suspected cancer of the tongue

Hi all

My dad has been referred to a consultant for a concerning red & white patch on his tongue and pain around his gums.

He is terrified. Please could someone with experience tell us what he could expect from this initial appointment?

I'm sorry to hear that your dad will need to have this patch on his tongue further investigated. I'm sure this is a worrying time for you all and I hope that some of our members who have gone through this initial appointment will be here shortly to share their experiences with you.
