Hi Everyone

I'm so nervous coming on here. I'm 39 years old with 3 kids recently found a lump in my left breast whilst shaving my armpits and freaked out in shock. Previous to this a month before went to the GP for pain in the same breast where a breast examination was done to feel for any lumps luckily there was none. So I'm scared as to why I have a lump now!!! Was referred to breast clinic and then for an ultrasound where they performed a biopsy which I was completely scared to the point of shaking. She found another lump which she said was a good sign... Also since then the lump has gone smaller. The assistant said the sonographer was certain its not BC but would say the sonographer said it didn't look like it but not to bank on it until the biopsy results come. Waiting for those results are actually the worst time of my life during the day I'm scared of getting the call but want the call...  Help xxx

  • Hi Nat

Things look encouraging if the lump has decreased but as they say, you'll have to wait until the results come back to confirm its benign. Waiting for results is a very anxious time, there's little that can be done while waiting other than trying to take your mind off it, which I'm sure won't be that difficult with three kids.

Hope your results are back soon and all will be well x

    Hi Nat,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

Magpiemaggie is right that this is one of the most anxious times of our lives when we are waiting for results. It all sounds pretty positive, but you cannot be certain until your biopsy results return. This normally takes 1-2 weeks. Have they told you when your results are likely to be back? I hope that you don't have long to wait and that nothing untoward is found.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
