I had a blood test in 2012 and my ca125 was 675. After many tests, laparoscopy, and eventually a full hysterectomy, including removal of lymph nodes, fat pads etc, all were tested and found to have no cancer and my ca125 reading went up to over 1200!! I'm not 54 years old, still have a reading of 675 but no other signs! I wish I had never had the hysterectomy as I've aged quicker and had more pain with arthritis etc since my hysterectomy. Not all high ca125 means cancer... I'm sooo glad I'd already had my children before I found this reading to be high, many won't be so lucky and feel hysterectomy may be their only option. I still worry as to why mine is so high. I did have a blood transfusion at the age of 40 when I had my daughter so I wonder if it's anything to do with that tbh as other blood tests prior to this were always normal. It's been 8 years since my hysterectomy and readings still the same as it was originally. I believe more research is needed in this area. It's caused me much stress worry and anxiety these last few years but health wise, I've been fine
