How long for results?

Hello, I'm mags, 39 and had hysteroscopy and 2 biopsies on the 23rd Feb. I've suffered endometriosis since aged 14 and mild diskaryosis for years.

My symptoms have gotten worse over the year and after a pelvic ultrasound I was advised I had to have hysteroscopy and biopsy of the womb. They requested it to be done within 2 weeks, which they achieved. Whilst they were doing the hysteroscopy and womb biopsy they asked if they could take a biopsy from my cervix also. (when in Rome and all)

After a painful procedure done whilst awake I was informed of a polyp removal which they had carried out and the two biopsies were taken successfully.

Now I have to wait.

How long do people generally wait for their results?

I'm going mad with not knowing.

Thank you.

  • [@Magsxpagex]‍ Hi Mags, Sorry you're here - EVERYTHING crossed it’s good news for you. I got my last lot of results in a shade under three weeks, it may differ dependent on how ‘under the cosh’ your particular hospital is. Waiting sure is a toughie, I have found it harder than every other process to be honest, even surgery! The path labs are at breaking point with all the extra Covid ‘stuff’, it must be never ending for them. I hope your mind is put at rest swiftly, it must be hugely difficult for you. You probably know this already, but If you need any more information or a chat moving forward, put in the search bar salient features of your particular interest i.e. womb biopsy, cervix, endometriosis etc, sometimes you may have to re jig a word or two around, but it usually brings something related up, these wonderful posters on here are a mine of info. And they are all caring, sharing souls too. All the best Mags, Lyn. X

  • Thank you for your response and kind words.

It is so stressful having to wait but I understand the pandemic is taking up so much of our labs etc. It does not make it any easier though.

I'm going to spend my evening scouring so it can sink in that everyone waits for a few weeks lol.

Thank you again and I hope you are OK xx

  • [@Magsxpagex]‍ , you’re very welcome. Good luck with everything, I hope they come through quickly for you - and carry good news. You take care, all the best, Lyn. X
