Scared to death of what’s coming!

Hey guys,

I am completely freaked out. 2 years ago I started having neurological symptoms etc. I had my head scanned 3 times, my spine and also a lumbar puncture. I have also my chest scanned once a year because of my heart condition. They didn't found anything. The blood test suggested a possible Lyme disease infection for which I was treated. I still have some symptoms, however, recently I got dead worried. I've been having for years some issues with my bowel. Tummy pain, loose stools etc. Dismissed with IBS.
a month ago I got a lump on the external part of my bottom. I thought it was a pile, but it didn't want to go away by using any kind of treatment - steroid creams etc. It finally worked when they gave me an antibiotic which was unusual. Despite the lump Is gone now - I've found on the same side in my groin 2 very small lumps, that are painless, hard and rooted. I saw a doctor he asked me about my Bowel. Said before diagnosing me with IBS we will run some tests. A FIT test, for inflammation, bloods etc.  He touched my groin and said that it looks to him like a small normal enlarged lymph node. Not sure where he took "normal" from, because I had not had it before and it's def not normal! He said give one more week and if it won't go away maybe we will do a scan. It's not going away, plus I found another one close to the one that I already had. My tummy and groin hurts all the time as much as my lower back - and I don't know if the pain is caused by anxiety or something else, but I am very scared that I have either lymphoma or bowel cancer that has spread to my lymph nodes. I have blood done this Friday and tomorrow my Gp will call me so I'll ask to get the ultrasound done. I am scared as never before because something is off. I am afraid that they missed something 2 years ago and now it is advanced

  • Welcome to the forum Linguist although I'm sorry to read your post. It sounds like you've been through a lot.

How did your telephone call go with your GP the other day? I hope they were able to refer you for the ultrasound and put your mind at ease.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will share their experiences with you soon but in the meantime we're thinking of you and will have our fingers crossed the nodes are no cause for concern.

    All the best,
