Period for 4 weeks.

Hi, just wondering if anyone has experianced anything similar.

so my period started 24th January, it has only just stopped or at least i think it has. I have bled everyday for 4+ Weeks, some days heavier than others but as soon as it thought it was ending it carried on. Sometimes bloody discharge.

I have always suffered from really heavy perioids so last year as advised by the dr, I had the kyleena coil fitted. This helped massively I stopped having heavy periods, but now this over a year on?

I have a scan booked for next week. I've been getting back pain and pain going down my leg too.

has anyone had anything simular.

**EDIT** had the back pain and leg pain whilst trying to get to sleep last night and this morning bleeding again!

thanksn

  • Hi Sarah,

I'm exactly the same as you but 22. After 2 weeks of bleeding I went to the sexual health clinic as it's so abnormal for me. I'm on the combined pill and have been for 8 years now.

She checked my cervix and could only find a rare type of cyst that I've had since I was born. I'm terrrified though she has misdiagnosed it as something else.

I've had back pain, pain on one side during sex, and she told me to come back after another cycle if it's still the same. Trouble is I don't want to wait as I feel like something is wrong

I can't be much help really but you're not alone xx

  • Hi Chloe, thanks for the reply.

Aw well hopefully the results they gave you are correct and there is nothing else going on. Do they think the rare type of cyst you have is the cause of it?

Of course if your not happy you should definatley not worry in silence and seek more help. I guess you can never be too careful.

I hope you get to the bottom of it all. This is very new for me, I had years of awful periods which is why they wanted me to have the coil, they did help with them and I haven't had any issues up until now but this is awful.

I have had two smears done now (I'm 31) both have been normal.

    xx
