Hi I’m also female & 57. I had a tongue biopsy two days ago. I have to say the biopsy wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. They numbed my tongue with gel before the injection & the biopsy itself took about 10mins (you really don’t feel anything) I can honestly say that the worst thing was the taste of blood in my mouth. The anaesthetic wore off after about an hour but the pain was manageable with ibuprofen. Two days later it’s still painful when I eat but apart from that it’s not too bad. The worst part now is waiting for the results which they said will be in a couple of weeks times.
I’m really sorry to hear about you having had breast cancer in the past & I can only imagine how you must be feeling right now but I hope this helps at least a little bit to put your mind at rest regarding the tongue biopsy. Please feel free to let me know how you get on.
Thank you so much for your message. Yes I've read it takes about two weeks for the results to come in. I'd never heard of tongue cancer and since reading about it it seems to be an old mans disease so it's nice to know I'm not the only one being tested for it.
Fingers crossed for you and lots of love. ️ ️
