Mucosal melanoma. Help

This is the first time Ive been on one of these forums so forgive me if things don't make sense

Saying that not much has since my last visit to hospital. Jan 2018 I had what I thought was a haemorrhoid removed which turned out to be a nodular anorectal mucosal melanoma. I had no other treatment apart from regular observation( I have had the best care) and life plodded on as usual.  In fact I felt a bit of a fraud.
I have just had results from my last MRI which is showing an abnormality in my rectum plus I have just had section of a new mystery lump taken out of my palate. This has been sent away for analyses. I am dreading the results.
I really don't know why I'm posting this.   Maybe someone has been there and can offer some hope as I can only see a dark future.

  • Hi Smokedog,

I'm really sorry to hear you are going through all this. I have no personal experience of mucosal melanoma (mine is superficial spreading melanoma) but I do know a couple of people who are mucosal patients.

If you don't mind, I would prefer chatting to you by private message. I will send you a friend request - if you accept the request I can then send you a private message. Meanwhile, I hope your results come back clear & that they are not connected to your melanoma diagnosis.

    Take care,

    Angie (Stage 3 melanoma patient)
