Sorry if wrong forum, but I just wanted to see if anybody with Lynch Syndrome had experience severe constipation? I'm a 26 year old female, got tested when I was 18/19 as my dad had bowel cancer. They discovered the HNPCC gene, as my dads cancer was linked to his dads renal cancer. When I got diagnosed with lynch syndrome I was told from 25 I should get regular colonoscopies but nobody has been in contact, but I'm guessing that's down to covid.
My bowel habits have changed since Christmas Day, when I came over feeling very ill with very bad cramping and back pain. I put it down to bad diet, but I've been two months clean eating with plenty of water, exercise (my job is very active) and also hitting fibre goals. I have lost quite a lot of weight (intentional) but it does seem to be dropping off really fast.
I got referred on the NHS on an urgent 2 week referral and spoke to the doctors who said I needed a colonoscopy. Fortunately I have private healthcare through work so have gone through this option with an appointment on Monday.
I didn't know if anybody had gone through a similar thing?
