Hello! First time poster and looking for any advice from you lovely people on how long people have waited etc. and any advice for distractions!
2 years ago I had my daughter via caesarean and the Dr said she thought one of my ovaries looked bulky. It took a lot of pushing for me to get an ultrasound and blood test at the time. Bloods were fine and they said they couldn't see anything on the ultrasound because of gas and the consultants letter said that because of both of those things they weren't concerned. Fast forward to now and I have had a dull ache along with a few other symptoms. I've had an ultrasound and my ovary is measuring 7.4cm long with a tumour inside. The sonographer was a doctor herself and said she thinks she's right in saying it's benign but wants me to have an MRI and if it's the type of tumour she thinks it is it'll have to be removed. I know she wouldn't give false hope if she did think it was cancerous.
My GP is quite awkward about recieving notes (the GP won't accept emails and the hospital won't send things in the mail.) I'm concerned about the time waiting for them to receive and process the notes and then the waiting time for the MRI as although my symptoms have only just appeared it has been growing for two years.
I'm a bit scared. Have a two year old and we were wanting to expand our family further but all that is on hold now.
This is all very new to me so any advice about best way to deal with going forward and best way to distract myself in the mean time I'd be hugely grateful.
