HPV and High grade Diskaryosis

Hi,

I am 52 years old and new to this forum I hope someone can help with my worry.

I have always had my smear test every 3 years and always cameback negative, my last smear test in July 2020 cameback as HPV and NO abnormal cells and to repeat the test in a year, but I have decided to go and have the test privately because I did not wanted to wait a year.

My results cameback as HPV postive to strains 31,33,35,52, 58... but negative to 16,18,45 and the rest of high risks strains with high grade Dyskaryosis suggesting CN2.

My question is. Is it normal to have a result of No abnormal cells to CN2 in only 7 months?

I am so worried as  only 7 months ago the results was No abormal cells and now CN2

I have been reffered as immediate for colposcopy and my GP told me about 2/3 weeks before my appointment.

I can't stop crying with worry thinking that they might find cancer..

Did anyone experienced this?

Thanks in advance

X

  • Hello anna68,

You did the right thing in getting another test, but you won't know more until further tests are done. Please try not to worry, there is some information here about colposcopies, which I hope will help you feel more prepared. Don't hesitate to ask your doctor any questions you might have, they are there to help.

    Best wishes,
