Scares, unwell yet normal blood work

Good evening, hoping someone out there can help.  I have pancreatitis kidney stones fibromyalgia adenometreosis arthritis.  Ive recently become very ill with etreme pain all down my left side of body lasting well over two weeks but easing now.  I have lumps in my armpit and marbel sized lumps in the back of my left leg.  My gp did full blood count and blood clot , all coming back clear.  My heart problems havent changed. I was wondering, can anyone tell me if full blood counts detect every single cancer or just some cancers?

cheers Moffat

  • Hello Moffat,

You can find out more on this page about full blood counts and what exactly they are used for. As mentioned there, full blood count (FBC) measures the number of red cells, white cells and platelets in your blood. Your GP will be able to tell you more though and answer specific questions about why they ordered this full blood count. It's good news though that your FBC has come back clear.

I hope that you find out more soon about what is causing all this pain down the left side of your body - it does sound rather painful and I hope you get a definite diagnosis soon.

    Best wishes,
