Hello everyone, I hope I have posted in the correct place. I have joined for some support during the very difficult wait for my son's biopsy result.

He had an excision biopsy for a lump in his thigh, after an ultrasound showed it was a solid tumor with increased vascularity. This was carried out privately because we have found it so difficult to get appointments within the NHS during this pandemic. I know that services are meant to be continuing as normal but that has not been our experience unfortunately.

My main question is that I have read that it can take 2-3 days for biopsy results to come back if the result is routine but we are on day 6 so I am automatically assuming that this must be malignant. I emailed the consultant's secretary today and she said she would see if the results are back but I haven't had any further reply and I'm scared to ask now. Surely if they were back and clear I would have them by now?

The wait is agonising and I'm so scared for my little boy.
