Can polyps in the womb become cancerous?

 i am menopausal and have been diagnosed with polyps in the womb after i had an internal investigation  and i opted for an hysterectomy this was in 2019 . i wanted to know if these can turn cancerious because im still waiting for the operation and the gp doesnt seem anymore knowledgable than me
